肺癌可透過對高風險人士（即目前或過去重度吸煙者）進行胸部低劑量電腦斷層掃描（LDCT）篩查來檢測。美國的全國肺癌篩查試驗及歐洲的 NELSON 試驗均證明，以 LDCT 篩查肺癌可降低肺癌死亡率。然而，在香港，肺癌患者中以從不吸煙的女性較為突出。

- Age 50-75, men or women, smokers or non-smokers
- Being first degree relatives (Siblings, children, and parents) of lung cancer subjects
- Having no known lung cancer before

- Non-Chinese
- Mentally incompetent to give informed consent
